よみやすかった Date：2009-11-08 おすすめ度 アメリカでこの映画版を見たところとても面白かったのでこの本を買いました。 私の英語力はあまり高くないこともあり、洋書を読むことは極めて少ないのですが、 作者の英語は非常に読みやすく、そして流れるような文体は素晴らしいと思いました。 |

この何年間に読んだ本の最高 - Best book I've read in years Date：2009-10-13 おすすめ度 著者Julie Powellの会話のような軽い書き方と裏腹に、読んでいるうちにとても重要なことをいっしょに分かち合っている気がしてきます。最後の数ページまで読んだら、笑いながら感動で目に涙が浮かびました。古くからの親友の手紙を読んでる気分です。ジュリア・チャイルド先生は長年色いろな素材をまな板に乗せて、私たちに勇気を与えましたが、今度はJulie Powellがジュリアをまな板に載せて、私たちに大事なことを教えています。フランス語では「joie de vivre」（生きる喜び）と言いますが、この貴重な性質はジュリアもJulieも持っていて、私たち読者に分け与えています。料理に興味がない人でも楽しめると思います。 Despite Julie Powell's light, conversational tone, reading the book we find ourselves sharing something very important. Reading the last few pages, I was laughing with tears in my eyes. It's like reading the letters of a dear old friend. Over the years, Julia Child offered us courage as she placed different ingredients on the cutting board. Now Julie has put Julia "on the cutting board" to teach us a valuable lesson. Both Julia and Julie possess that special quality called "joie de vivre" (joy of living) in French and they have offered it to their readers. Even those not interested in cooking will certainly find this book entertaining. |
